Digitising,
also known as Vectorisation, is a process that will convert
your paper or rastered drawing into a computerised drawing
format such as .dxf, .dwg, .dgn file types. Using this service,
you can make a full or partial vectorisation of a particular
drawing.
Vectorisation
can take any of the following three forms:
1)
Full Manual Vectorisation
Paper
drawings are scanned into a raster image file. The raster
files are then used as templates, which are traced with
vector information by our fully trained CAD specialists.
Line types are duplicated and all text is replaced to provide
completed CAD files layered to the client's specifications.
Once the conversion is verified to be accurate, the raster
image is removed and the new CAD file is saved in the native
format (e.g. .dwg or .dxf etc.) of your CAD system.
2)
Automatic Vectorisation
The
vectorisation process is completed automatically. Again
the raster image is used, but in this case the software
automatically traces with vector information. With the automatic
process discrepancies in accuracy and text recognition may
occur and a certain amount of manual clean up is invariably
required.
3)
Scan to Vector
Drawings
are scanned directly into vector format as a .dxf file.
All lines are incorporated as fills with four entities (as
opposed to Polylines with two entities).
